Bench Racers – IMS Tour

In March a few members sign up to attend this event which was a tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was put on by the Bench Racers Organization for all Indy 500 racing enthusiasts. Approximately 150 people signed up for the tour. With major construction going on at the Speedway many were interested in seeing the changes. IMS personnel gave a guided tour around the newly configured road course designed for the new Indianapolis Grand Prix, the Media Center, timing & scoring, Security area for the State, City Police & Homeland security, Victory Podium, Gasoline Alley Suite, and Yard of Bricks photo op. Director of IMS Engineering, Kevin Forbes gave a talk of all the things that the Speedway has planned for inside the track. Afterwards the club members went to Grinestone Charlies for a late lunch. Thanks to CCCC member Chuck S & the Bench Racers.
