The Cruise to the Cruise – Patoka Lake
The event was hosted by Captain John and his 1st mate Mary Ann. Club members met at the Fire House Subs in Plainfield. While inside it started raining but everyone had been told the event was rain or shine. All members arrived in their Corvettes. Member, Eva Y. had contacted the Plainfield Police Department and they were happy to give us a police escort west on US 40 to SR 39. Lights and sirens all the way. Once we turned south we drove out of the rain. We stopped in Worthington at the Route 67 Ice Cream & Diner. Then it was on to Patoka Lake where a dinner cruise was waiting for us. Let it be known that on the trip south John & Mary Ann found a road that can only be described as the Indiana version of “Tail of the Dragon”, not as long but just as much fun. Once on board the boat, it was cruising the lake and then a great Dinner was served. Once back at the dock it was time to head home. A Very Big Thank you to John & Mary Ann for this fun and unique club event.
